From Cabaret to Concert Hall - Sounds Great specialises in music presentations from classics to pops to complete concert events.

Sounds Great provides concert events for a diverse range of clients including: The Darling Harbour Foreshore Authority, Sydney Olympic Park Authority, Great Big Events, Active TV and The Japan-Australia Music Goodwill Mission.

Dr. Steve Watson brings a diversity of musical experiences to the challenges of musical direction. Steve was Senior Lecturer in Music and Director of the Academy of Music at the University of Western Sydney. More recently his focus has been on orchestral and choral conducting, and the writing of arrangements and orchestrations.

Steve is Principal Conductor of the Sydney Concert Orchestra, and has presented many successful concerts with this excellent orchestra during the last six years. He also has conducted the Sydney International Orchestra, the Sydney Youth Orchestra and the SBS Youth Orchestra. International experiences include the symphony orchestras of Malta and Cuba.

Steve is Musical Director of the Beethoven Society of Australia. He has directed Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Sydney Opera House on five occasions, with a massed choir of four hundred voices.

Recent concert presentations include ‘British Pomp & Circumstance’, ‘Bacharach on the Bay’, ‘Hollywood on the Bay’ at Darling Harbour, ‘Carols by the Cauldron’ at Sydney Olympic Park and ‘Symphony on the Sand at Freshwater Beach’.

Other concert events include ‘Music’s Hall of Fame’ ‘Outstanding Youth in concert’; ‘The Brilliance of Beethoven’, ‘The Magic of Mozart’, ‘Porgy & Bess’ (a concert version), ‘Gershwin Sings & Swings’, ‘Music for Champions’, ‘Sydney Sings the Movies’ and ‘Sydney Sings the Musicals’ at the Sydney Town Hall, Side by Side by Sondheim, ‘Feel the Spirit’ and ‘Gloria’ at St. Andrews Cathedral.

As a vocalist, Steve's distinctive bass baritone voice is featured on hundreds of radio and television commercials. Steve is frequently engaged as an Adjudicator of vocal, choral and instrumental sections of Eisteddfods throughout New South Wales.
